Cavanera Etna Rosso

Een topwijn maken met de sublieme terroirexpressie van de Etnabodem was het nieuwe doel van Firriato.
Dat doen ze op de CAVANERA wijngaard  met oude prephyloxera wijnstokken (!).
Druiven ;  Nerello Mascalese en Nerello Cappuccio.
Op  zwarte zandige vulcanische grond aan de noordoostelijk gelegen hellingen van de Etna ( 600 mt ).
De habitat bij uitstek, hier en nergens anders, voor deze 2 druivenrassen. Al heel lang zijn wij onder de indruk van de mogelijkheden van de Etnawijnen, met hun hoge frisheid, elegantie, verfijning en hoge mineraliteit. Deze is heel fris, veel substantie, vulcanisch gesteente, floraal ( vioooltjes, roos), rood fruit , kruidig ( zw peper en nootmuskaat )

This vineyard is exclusively dedicated to the production of this label, and has been selected for the superior foliage of its vines, quality of its waters and its microclimate. Cavanera Rovo delle Coturnie is a wine with exceptionally mineral aromas which stands out for its alcoholic elegance and spicy aromas typical of Nerello Mascalese. It displays a light ruby red colour, erupting in the glass with an intensity of aromas of small red fruits. Full-bodied flavour and seductive tannins are its dominant characteristics
